Diarrhoea in our four-legged friends is more common than you might think. The important thing is not to panic and immediately change their food. Often, there may be another cause.
π Possible causes:
π¦ Parasites, bacteria or viruses
βοΈ Eating snow or ice (a common trigger in winter)
π½ Switching food too quickly
βοΈ Digestive problems or other illnesses
π‘ If diarrhoea occurs after changing your pet's food:
β‘οΈ Don't introduce a fasting day without veterinary advice,
especially for puppies, kittens, senior pets or animals with
existing health conditions.
β‘οΈ Offer suitable food in small portions and monitor your pet
closely.
β‘οΈ A gradual food transition is particularly important for
older animals.
π± Good to know:
Building a healthy gut microbiome can take several months β
patience is key.
β οΈ Important:
If diarrhoea persists or other symptoms develop, please consult
your vet.
