disease is transmitted through the bite of an infected sand
fly.

Leishmaniasis can have serious health consequences for dogs and
often develops gradually, with symptoms that may go unnoticed
at first.

• Weight loss
• Skin problems or hair loss
• Tiredness and weakness
• Wounds that heal poorly

Symptoms may not appear until months or even years after
infection.
